Former Ga mascot Uga X, whose 8-yr operate involved back again-to-back again countrywide championships, died on Tuesday.
Uga X, element of the line of English bulldog mascots which began in 1955, was 2 when he commenced his operate on the Sanford Stadium sideline in 2015. The bulldog recognized as “Que” retired in a ceremony at the Bulldogs’ 2023 spring football game. Yet another English bulldog pet, Uga XI, recognized as Growth, took more than for the 2023 season.
The Seiler loved ones, led by Charles Seiler, primarily based in Savannah, Ga, has preserved the line of mascots for almost 70 years. The family members claimed Uga X, who was 10 a long time outdated, died peacefully at his household in Savannah.
With Uga X as mascot, Ga posted a 91-18 history from 2015-2022, like the 2021 and 2022 countrywide championships, two Southeastern Convention titles and seven New Year’s 6 bowl appearances.
